Design Folio - Cherry Blossom

Inspired by Mel’s favourite Louis Vuitton pattern, the Murakami Cherry Blossom, I have made a prototype web layout.  The cherry blossoms can be moved around the screen and content boxes popup when you click on the blossom.  I don’t know if this has any real application but it works as a proof of concept.  It is easy to add new content boxes and the users can arrange them as they wish.  The one improvement I would make is to have a cookie remember the location of the blossoms so each users ‘design’ remains the same on future visits.

Mel has also made some wallpapers using the vectors created to make this page. Feel free to use them.

Design Folio - Writing Pad

I’ve decided to share some design concepts with the wider world here at thestable. After an afternoon of drawing and coding I managed to get the basic idea of my ‘writing pad‘ design done. It’s still a little raw and the end product, should it ever make its way into a live site, will be limited in functionality but the point here is to prove that creative designs are possible while following xhtml and css standards and also that I am capable of producing such designs. I’ll add more designs as I come up with them and actually code them. Feel free to let me know what you think.
